Coming to life during the Crack Epidemic as a young man, Frank was heavily impacted within his own household as a child and later influenced by the drug culture from within his family as a means of survival. A trouble youth struggling in school, having lost both parents at an early age, Frank like many young men took to the street and became a product and menace to the community he lived in. In and out of juvenile and adult jail systems ultimately allowed him moments to think about what was next for his life, upon discovering he had a child of his own on the way.
Fast-forwarding, today Frank has used these experiences to serve as a positive influence to children throughout the community plagued by the very same circumstances that greeted him as a child. From acquiring a degree from Rutgers University to becoming a municipal employee and being recognized simply as "Coach Woo", Frank moves beyond the constraints and labels given, but raises the bar for excellence and expectations
Motivating youth and young adults isn't easy, but working with the more challenged and disadvantaged population, even more challenging. Frank Gilmore's life experience and expertise in the field has provided a platform to address the ills plaguing our young people today.
